The NGO “African Organization for the Development of Centres for Disabled People (OADCPH)” is a non-profit organization. Founded in 2012, it comprises 80 member bodies and organizations from 30 African countries.
The OADCPH aims to promote access to rehabilitation care of persons with disabilities (physical therapy, orthopedic device, and support of any other type of disability), improve the quality of care and promote the sustainability of structures rehabilitation.
To do this, a central associative purchases of orthopedic products for disabled people (orthopedic components, technical aids for walking and rolling, basic raw materials, tools, machinery and equipment, etc.) was set up to ensure continuity of activities beyond the presence of international partners. The central purchasing is non-profit and rehabilitation service providers are members. The choice of this institutional arrangement ensures the continuity of the central shopping but also take into account the social economic situation of the main beneficiaries include people with disabilities and their families.
The added value of OADCPH is to ensure the support of its members in terms of training, support, advice, monitoring, evaluation, and procurement of components / equipment and tools provided that they respect the rules and the status of the organization. It is open to all players in the field of private and public disability but also to organizations and institutions working in the field of disability in Africa.
It has a central warehouse based in Lome, Togo which is in charge of supplying all requesting members (who fulfill the criteria) and mainly at national, sub-regional and regional levels.
